Doc Brennan, you took teeth imprints for the crazy ass Cannibal dude we pulled in on this friggin' case. You've got imprints of the marks on the bones too, right? Any chance I can look at the bones?

Anyone else who worked on this case, contact me. Let me know what sort of evidence we've got on it.

The best he gets is a glare, since rolling his eyes wouldn't be good until the black eye had healed. He brushes past Dean with a soft snort.

"Better be glad I put on my decent jeans."

"Oh yeah 'cause I give a shit what you're wearing," Dean rolls his eyes and heads out toward the car expecting Ken will follow.

Of course Ken follows him, brows furrowing at the sight of the car. Now, Ken knows better than to say anything about the car even if he knows his bike is so much better. Still, he automatically heads for the passenger side and starts to get in, gritting his teeth as still sore muscles protest.

"Hey, all us queers care how we look when we go out."

Yes, it's childish, but Ken really doesn't care.

Dean gets in and slams the driver's door shut. He gives Ken his bitch face.

"Yeah because I care about that."

He starts the car up, turning the radio up just a bit so that Zeppelin isn't exactly blaring but it's definitely audible.

See Ken give it right back. It doesn't last long before Ken's leaning back in the seat, though, eyes glued to the outside scenery.

"I'm not gonna like this, am I?"

Dean reaches over and turns down the music just a hair. "Probably not. I'm trying to help though. Whether you realize it or not."

Silence was the best he could muster for several long moments before he sighed and closed his eyes.

"What do you want to know?"

Dean allows him the silence. He's got him in a car and nothing but time. No harm done by letting him take his own time.

"I know it's going to be hard. It's got to be hard but I need you to look at things as objectively as possible. Where do you remember being?"

He's going to start small and work up to the harder things.

Easy enough start, right? Ken can handle that.

"I was out for a run. My usual path when I'm out in the evening, along the beach then back by the apartments. Down a few alleys just off the Square."

Dean nods, listening. "And he ganked you there? How? You looked like you were handling yourself pretty well in the bar last night. You hit hard."

Sorry Ken, from here on out the questions get a little bit harder.

Reminding him of the night before isn't going to help him want to cooperate, Dean.

Frowning a little, he just shakes his head. "I saw him near one of the buildings and stopped for a sec, just small talk, seeing if anything had been going on that I needed to look into after my run. After a few minutes, he started in with the homophobic crap... calling me a poofter and I've heard that crap outta his mouth enough to know what he meant by that. Hell, Mamoru and I never made a point to hide our relationship around here, but he started in on that, calling me a fag and shit. He even asked me if all Japs took it up the ass like that, or just 'poofs like me'."

Dean would love to say that didn't sound like Ray but unfortunately he can't. That sounds exactly like Ray.

"Has he always been that big a jackass or was he a special kind of jackass that day. Before y'know..."

Before he killed you he means.

There's another soft sigh from Ken, his brow furrowing.

"... I honestly can't remember him ever confronting me about it before."

Well that was something but Dean wasn't going to boast over it just yet.

"Okay. Did everything about him seem more aggressive? Outside of the obvious. His body language and everything."

Ken reached up to gingerly pinch at the bridge of his nose.

"... not at first, no. Just shooting his mouth off at me, but it got heated quick. Not gonna lie. I got pissed off because that shit just isn't right, but he kept on. I told him to fuck off and started to walk away, but he hit me in the back of the head. When I started to turn around, I heard a gunshot and that's the last thing I remember, other than waking up dead. The only real physical aggression was when he hit me from behind. He didn't make a move until I turned to walk away."

"Can't blame you for getting pissed off," Dean answers. He's paying attention to driving instead of watching Ken. He figures it makes it easier for her. "Before then had he ever hit you?"

he answers with a shake of his head, knowing he'll notice the motion even if he's watching the road.

Dean does catch the shake and he nods in return. "Alright. You mentioned you could smell the cigarette smoke. Anything else you could smell? Drugs, alcohol...a rotting sort of smell? It would have been faint but there."

It takes a moment for Ken to force the memories back to that particular time, but a moment later, he furrows his brow.

"... trees. Maybe... But nothing else, really."
