Merry Christmas you filthy animal
Thanksgiving had been awesome. Dean had cooked every conceivable Thanksgiving dish and they'd all eaten until they thought they were going to burst. He'd spent the next day in a food coma but had quickly gotten up to speed on getting the bunker ready for Christmas. There had been a shit ton of decorations in storage, but he'd replaced a few lights and added a singing Santa or two.
Ruby had embroidered stockings with everyone's name. She hated embroidery, but she was damn good at it. Jo had contributed a recipe for Christmas punch and one for eggnog. She insisted that they needed to have it regularly so they could tweak the recipe. That way it would be perfect for Christmas Eve. Dean was pretty sure Jo was just enjoying her first real Christmas since God knows when. Dean wasn't complaining. Lucy hadn't stopped baking since the tree had gone up, and didn't show any signs of slowing down.
Ruby was also systematically removing, altering, or replacing everything that said Christmas. The bunker was turning into a politically (or demonically) correct wonderland: Happy Holidays!

It is how their relationship works. Ruby has a hard time accepting compliments for things she's actually responsible for. Lucy doesn't have a problem asking Cas to fetch her things from the store simply because he doesn't seem to mind at all. She will eventually send him for more bourbon and then ask him to snuggle up on the couch with her. It's a Christmas tradition, or she's going to make it one.
Allison's life wasn't exactly normal before she died anyway. It helped her adjust a little. She'd also always been naturally curious. The fact that Jack was God had thrown her a little, but she liked him and the more time she spent in his company, the more she liked him. It hadn't taken her long to fall head over heels as well.
Dean grumbles, not saying anything. Yes, they have an agreement even if Dean doesn't want to admit it. Ruby has grown on him. Dean can't help but be okay with Ruby because she's shown time and again that she cares about Sam. He also likes how happy Ruby makes Sam. Dean snorts at Sam's question. He points to the stockings. The mantle they hang on has garland, twinkle lights and a dancing Santa tucked in among it all. "He dances and sings 'here comes Santa". The goofy grin on Dean's face makes it clear he's very proud of his decorations. The blow up santa is a great idea. They can put him in the yard. Maybe some reindeer too. Sam's recollection of the memory makes Dean's smile soften. "Yeah? You think?" He nods, pleased by the compliment. Part of the reason he wanted to decorate like those houses was for Sam. It would have been amazing to do it when Sam was a kid, but in some ways, Sam will always be a kid to Dean.

There's no denying that he's always on his toes when they're alone.
He wouldn't change their relationship dynamic either. She's responsible for a lot of things she's worthy of recognition for. It's because Lucy asks for what she desires that Cas began to clue into her as a person. They're closer to each other for it. More bourbon? No problem. Someone might have to remind him to take cash to the places he visited later. Snuggles under the blanket is something he's starting to see an appreciation for as it brings them closer.
Jack talked about her non-stop when she wasn't around.
What matters is the two of them find some way to keep the peace now. Sam used to get fed up with their antics. Dean's grumble now is nothing to fuss over. Ruby helps him see a future between hunting and something remotely domestic down in the bunker. He scoofs, but it's a genuine smile at Dean's chest puffed out. "You did good. It's honestly a little scary how quickly you pulled this together." Dean can volunteer the information on where it all came from or not. His brother can add whatever else he likes as long as Santa turns off at night. "You went all out on the food, too." Which is Dean's opportunity to go over that. In fact, he can't help but smile at some of the things Dean made at Thanksgiving. His brother was amazing with food.

Lucy doesn't realize it, but if she hadn't been forthright about her desires, Cas probably would have never approached her about any of his own feelings or desires. Yes, that's also something Lucy had to learn with Cas: remind him to pay for things among other things that most people don't think about. Lucy does her best to make sure he appreciates those snuggles.
Yeah, they'd recognized pretty early that Jack had a crush. It was working out though.
That future is what Dean always wanted for Sam. It just looks a little different than he'd thought it would. Dean shrugs, purses his lips and decides to confess. "Most of it was in a storage closet. I just had to get some new bulbs for the lights. Who knew the Men of Letters were big Christmas celebrating guys." Dean smirks at that. "Well...yeah. What else did you expect? I can't let you all starve on a holiday. You got any special requests for this year? No rabbit food. I don't do rabbit food."

The reminders are helpful. Even when he had a stint with humanity, he was never all that great about remembering to pay. Sometimes it got him in trouble until he learned.
Allison is great.
It looks a lot like hanging out in the bunker for the foreseeable future. Sam's eyes flash with mild surprise, but he never looked at all the storage too closely either. The bunker had more important things to categorize. Given a moment he makes it 'changes to an 'okay then' face that pairs well with a shrug. "Half the time I don't know what was running through their minds when working down here. There is evidence they didn't get out much so why not Christmas."
He pushes out his lips and forms a thin smile. Asking him not to ask for greens or fruit was asking him to forego half his tastebuds. "Surprise me." But don't make him regret it.

He frowns mildly, having nothing else to add about what the men of letters did. It's depressing to think about. Sam gives Dean that look of 'Really'. "Good. Save the marshmallows for the cocoa. I think Cas is planning an excursion to the Longview Lake." The one that opened recently, because Jack said he would be excited to learn. He reassesses what he really wants and it's not mac and cheese. "Pizza bread. If you insist on ruining my appetite, please let it be pizza bread."

"I'm not sure. More than likely you will have to wait until he finalizes it." There is a good chance that ice skating will be an option. It was well known for it this time of the season. Honestly, Sam felt Cas deserved the chance to plan it out alone. It had not gone unnoticed that Dean had been nesting for the second time since Chuck was made mortal. Maybe the reservations they needed to do to the aging bunker had a part in it too. Sam can't argue that Dean does have his way with food. "I'm counting on you."
He pauses for but a second. "But, I'm bringing something green for the table."

Dean makes a face at Sam's declaration. "Fine. Guess green jello doesn't count?" he asks, grinning. It's a joke, but he's pretty sure it'll get at least an eye roll out of Sam.

The experience would be good for Cas. Sam enjoyed the historical touches in the bunker too. Of course he believed they could renovate without modifying it in a harmful way.
"If you want to eat it all by yourself, knock yourself out." Though he has a sneaking suspicion that Jack or Ruby might like the jello (one of whom he side eyes after rolling his eyes away from Dean).

Dean chuckles a little, but now he's definitely going to get with Lucy about coming up with something green that isn't vegetables. Little does he know that Lucy has a southern classic in her arsenal. "I'll do some green bans or something. Hey, do candied yams count as a vegetable?" Technically they're a starch and a (naturally) sugary one at that, but Dean missed health and home economics class.

Sam has knowledge of a few rooms that functionality could be drastically improved. Castiel recently mentioned the shooting range could use new equipment. He would also have some ideas for Dean on how to add luxuries without being impractical. All Dean needed to start with was his ideas and they could go from there.
If Lucy is involved, it might not end up bad. But sometimes the pair of them Sam does not know what to do with. They're trouble in the kitchen. Sam will deny that southern classic is a salad until it might hurt Lucy's feelings. "Stick to the green beans. How much syrup do you intend to make it with?" To be fair, health and home economics at the time only taught the four food groups; yams do fall under the vegetable category. Cleary with the displeasure he is showing, Sam is more concerned with the sugar ratio.

There could be some improvements made to their bedrooms, though Dean is unlikely to think about it simply because they spent so many years in motel rooms with questionable beds and amenities. Possibly Jo or Lucy or even Ruby might mention it first. He definitely wouldn't say no to upgrading the gun range. Maybe a new oven, one of the fancy convection ovens, for the kitchen.
Lucy's feelings won't be hurt, but she will expect everyone to at least try it. That's just good manners. Dean shrugs in response. "I don't know. However much the recipe says." Yes, he actually uses recipes for most things. Also to be fair, Dean skipped class as often as possible. "I'll stick with green beans though." Simmered with bacon because that's what makes everything good.

It wouldn't hurt to upgrade the appliances in the kitchen. Sam might even have a few points in favor of that, should it come up, such as stealing less electricity from the grid and keeping the bunker from being discovered by accident. Jo and Lucy should definitely feel they can speak on behalf of the bunker so yes.
Saying no to Lucy isn't as easy as saying no to Dean. It is a manners thing. Sam will accept his fact when the time comes and add a portion to the side of his plate. Sam stops for a second. "Okay. I'm trusting you." A recipe makes it sound a little better. The only thing he does not want is a repeat of the Winchester special which is too much cheese to be remotely healthy. "Thank you." He adds, hesitantly, one eyebrow raised and silently wondering what the catch is. Bacon is not advertised. "See you in an hour?"
