The fucking door was locked. Of course the fucking door was locked. Dean blew air out his nose and paced in front of the door a moment. He had a chokehold on some white flowers he'd jerked out of the yard next door and he was half certain they were weeds instead of flowers. He kind of wanted to Rhett Butler the whole thing (Yes, he's seen Gone with the Wind. Deal with it) but he was pretty sure if he remembered right it had pissed Scarlett off and chances were good it was going to piss Brooke off too. Instead he went to the Impala and got his lock picks out of the trunk. He carried them back in the house, took a few seconds to pick the lock and opened the door. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him and looked up to Brooke. He figured his chances were about fifty fifty she'd throw his ass out right now.

And that surprised Dean as much as anything. He glanced over his shoulder like he was waiting for the other shoe to jump out and attack him then looked back to Brooke. He furrowed his brow, thinking about her words a moment and twisted his mouth to the side a little bit. After a minute or so he nodded. "Yeah...I think so."

Dean Winchester? Completely in fucking foreign territory right now.

"Alright," she looked over at Dean, wondering why he seemed so confused if they were really okay. And since she thought they were okay, she wasn't sure what his problem was.

He kept his hands in his pocket, rocking back on his heels slight. Still pretty damn confused as to how this was over so quick and easy. Finally after a minute he looked up to her.

"You know I realize I'm a lucky bastard."

"Yeah, I know," she answered. He might have called her a 'lucky girlfriend' when he was flirting with other girls, but when he was with her, he treated her better than that. "Thank you for my flowers."

The 'lucky girlfriend' was really just more of Dean's bluster and cocky attitude to cover up everything else. When he was with just her, he didn't need to cover up as much. "Yeah...you're welcome. Thank the neighbors next door. They came out of their yard and I'm pretty sure I crippled their cat stepping on it."

He couldn't just say 'you're welcome'. Waaaaaaay too easy.

"Me too. I'm pretty sure it pisses on my tires every night," Dean grinned at her.

"Oh hell yeah," Dean grinned. He walked over to Brooke and put his arms around her. He was pretty sure he was out of the dog house now.

He knew what she meant. Dean wasn't nearly as stupid as most people gave him credit for. "That the cat pissed on my tires? Me too."

"You're an ass," Brooke laughed.

"Yup," Dean grinned. "Most of the time."

Ass was way easier than letting down his guard.

"I can't give you a hard time when you don't deny it," she reminded Dean, giving him a light kiss on the lips. "No more fighting on the internet."

"I don't like fighting with you either, Brooke," Dean assured her. A grin spread across his face. The kind of grin that indicated he was probably going to say something that made him sound kind of like a dick. "Apparently it ends with me stealing flowers, picking locks, apologizing and crippling cats."

"At least you didn't kill the cat," she shrugged. "Unfortunately, you didn't kill the cat," she corrected herself, half teasing.

"I could go back and get you some more flowers," he joked with her.

"He'd still have like, seven more lives," she smirked. "Just remember for the next time you screw up."

"I'll have to start putting tuna fish under the tires," Dean smirked. "Give the neighborhood kids some bread dough and ask them if they want to see a cat explode."

"Alright, no blowing up the neighbor's cat," Dean smirked. He kissed the top of her head, chuckling as he did.

"Damn right no blowing up the neighbor's cat. Do you know how hard I've worked to make sure that PETA doesn't flour me in public?" she shook her head. "You have no idea."

"Sweetheart, PETA throws anything at you and I'm going to be beating someone's ass," Dean promised her with a smirk.
